Asthma is a disease that affects the breathing passages of the lung’s bronchioles; it is caused by chronic (ongoing, long-term) inflammation of these passages. This continued inflammation makes the breathing passages or airways of a person with asthma highly sensitive to various triggers. A few asthma facts:

Loretto Hospital’s Breathe Easy Asthma/Allergy Treatment Center is a great resource and has benefited a large population of residents from the west-side of Chicago and its surrounding communities. This program is a six (6) week program designed to educate individuals on managing their own Asthma.
Program participants receive as Asthma Action Kit. This kit includes a peak flow monitoring device and a metered dose inhaler spacer. Members participate in a series of exams which includes a lung function test. These products are used to manage your Asthma.
