Paint Austin Pink is an education and outreach initiative for the Loretto Hospital Mammography Program/Women’s Imaging services. The program’s focus is to utilize the local business community as a vehicle for community education. The West Side Heroin Task Force shines light on Chicago’s West Side heroin crisis at press conference - CHICAGO, IL – August 31, 2016 – Today in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, the West Side Heroin Task Force (WSHTF), spearheaded by Representative La Shawn K. Ford, (8th), Loretto Hospital, and the Illinois Consortium on Drug Policy at Roosevelt University, held its first press conference at the James R. Thompson Center to announce its inauguration as well as to release supporting research conducted by Roosevelt University titled, “Hidden in Plain Sight: Heroin’s Impact on Chicago’s West Side, which examines heroin’s impact on Chicago’s West Side. Loretto Hospital gets an ‘A’ Grade from Leapfrog on Fall 2015 Hospital Safety Score
Loretto Hospital received a grade of ‘A’ on its Fall 2015 Hospital Safety Scores, according to a new report which will be officially released on October 28, 2015 by Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that rates hospitals nationwide to help steer employees towards providing a higher quality health care.
In previous Leapfrog surveys, Loretto Hospital received high scores in the key areas of hospital safety and quality. Last October, Loretto Hospital received an ‘A’ as a result of the vast improvements throughout the hospital, which included structural enhancements, bringing on new staff, and its new healthcare affiliations to expand upon the hospital’s healthcare services. Performance data reflected from 2012-2013 records Loretto Hospital as a B-rated facility, which included the procedures and management structures the hospital had in place to protect its patients from medical errors, infections, accidents, and injuries.
