Medical Records

Here at Loretto Hospital we care for the overall well-being of our patients, and our Medical Records Department plays a very important role in the execution of such care to our patients. A tremendous amount of information is generated during each patient’s visit from them being diagnosed and treated at our facility. The Medical Records Department collects and stores information about each patient and is responsible for the protection and maintenance of the medical records of all Loretto Hospital patients.

The department is available for the release of information during business hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Medical Records Department releases medical records for our patients who want copies of records for further care or other reasons. The department strictly follows all state and federally mandated regulations for the release of health information.

Requests for patient medical records must be in writing and provide sufficient information to identify the patient, including but not limited to an up-to-date Photo ID. Patient medical records usually take 7-10 business days to obtain, but can take up to 30 days; there is also a fee associated with obtaining medical records.

If you need any additional information, you can call our officer of Release of Information at (773)854-5376.
