Out-Patient Behavioral Health Services
The Outpatient Behavioral Health program at Loretto Hospital has served the Austin community since the 1960s.
The Clinic is located at 5524 W. Harrison St.
The program provides a continuum of care and include services provided by a team of psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, and case managers. Together the client, family, and clinical staff review the client’s treatment needs and develop interventions to relieve the symptoms of the psychiatric illness.
The goal of outpatient therapy/counseling is to provide an opportunity for clients to identify the reasons for their challenges, develop new adaptive behaviors, and resume involvement in the greater community. Clients must undergo an assessment by clinical staff; based on the assessment, a treatment plan is developed that will determine the level of services.
The Outpatient Behavioral Health Center offers a variety of services, including:
- Psychiatric care and supervision of medication
- Individual, family, and group therapy counseling
- Dual diagnosis treatment for persons experiencing difficulty with psychiatric disorders and substance abuse
- Case management that provides assistance with finances, housing, medical care, and coordination with other providers in the community
- Aftercare services for clients who are discharged from state-operated facilities
The fully accredited program is covered by some insurance plans including, Medicaid and Medicare.
