Clinical Rotations & Externships

Students and graduates will be exposed to both inpatient and outpatient clinical rotations led by Loretto’s network of teaching attending physicians. We also offer other core and elective rotations through affiliated networks. Our rotations include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Family Medicine
  • Psychiatry
  • Internal Medicine
  • General Surgery
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Urology
  • Addiction Medicine
  • Research
  • Infectious Disease
  • Cardiology

Establishing Clinical Rotations at The Loretto Hospital:

  • CLICK HERE to complete a rotation request form.
  • You will receive an e-mail regarding the availability of the rotation. Once the rotation is confirmed, please email the following required information to Sebghat Wardak via email at Sebghat.wardak@lorettohospital.org. All information must be emailed as a PDF.
  • Identification
    • Driver’s license or passport (if a US citizen)
    • Passport plus visa (if a non-US citizen)
  • Background check
  • HIPAA certification
  • MMR immunity
  • Varicella immunity
  • Hepatitis B immunity
  • Negative TB/chest x-ray
  • Malpractice insurance
  • 10 panel drug screen
  • Flu shot (if the rotation starts from September to March)
  • Current onsite CPR certificate (online certifications will not be accepted)
  • Resume
  • Diploma (if a graduate)
  • Letter of good standing (if a student)

Once we receive all the required documentation, along with your payment, you will receive information containing details about orientation.

We also offer United States Medical Licensing Examination courses (USMLE) Steps 1 and 2. Both sections are taught by experienced instructors who are certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for Step 1 and Clinical Skills (CS) for Step 2 instructors. Students will receive intensive training and immediate personalized feedback throughout the duration of both courses.

USMLE Step 2 CS Prep course includes:

  • Learning how to document the patient’s medical history
  • Physical examination

  • A 9-case mock exam with feedback
