CHICAGO, IL – March 10, 2015 – In a continued effort to provide
better standards, better care and better outcomes to the communities it
serves, The Loretto Hospital had expanded its diagnostic imaging services
and now offers MRI services to its patients through a state-of-the-art
mobile MRI unit.
The mobile MRI system is one of the most up-to-date MRI systems available.
The new Signa HD 1.5T MRI system from GE Healthcare delivers some of the
highest quality images on the market today. The advanced technology provides
shorter exams and greater comfort for patients, all while providing higher
diagnostic confidence for doctors.
“The Signa HD 1.5T MR system compliments and extends the range of
quality diagnostic services that we offer the residents of Austin and
the surrounding areas,” said Mary Rinder, director of diagnostic
imaging. “It provides us with vastly improved image quality and
imaging speed, and enhances the overall diagnostic confidence we have
in all of our studies.”
The provider of the mobile MRI system, Shared Medical Services, has paved
the way for hundreds of hospitals and clinics across the country to “share”
and benefit from its advanced network fleet, skilled technologists, and
corporate support while distributing the costs associated with the medical
service among those organizations allowing for better equipment and faster
upgrades with less capital investment.
“With the mobile solution we are able to bring some of the best technology
available to the community and our patients don’t have to travel.
It’s a win-win for everyone,” said Rinder.
