Maintaining a proper diet plays an important role in a patient’s healing. The Nutritional Services Department at The Loretto Hospital is staffed with registered dietitians to help patients and hospital guests make healthy food choices to promote overall wellness.

Clinical Nutritional Services

Our clinical nutritional services staff helps patients with promotion of good health and disease prevention. Experienced dietitians will provide individualized assessments, meal planning and education for patients that are affected by various illnesses, including:

  • Anemia
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Food allergies
  • General healthy meal planning
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Kidney disease

Building a diet that works to treat your condition can be difficult without help. It is highly recommended you work with a nutritionist or dietitian if you have been diagnosed with one of the conditions above.

Cafeteria

The hospital cafeteria is managed by the Nutritional Services Department and provides healthy meal choices to employees and visitors. The cafeteria is located on the lower level of the hospital and is open to the public every Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Maintaining the proper weight for your body type can be difficult. Both over and under eating are common problems in the United States. Even people who believe they are eating healthy can have trouble holding a proper weight and balancing nutrition.
