Nutritional Counseling on the Greater West Side of Chicago
Build a Diet That Meets Your Health Goals
Maintaining a proper diet plays an important role in a patient’s
healing. The Nutritional Services Department at The Loretto Hospital is
staffed with registered dietitians to help patients and hospital guests
make healthy food choices to promote overall wellness.
Clinical Nutritional Services
Our clinical nutritional services staff helps patients with promotion of
good health and disease prevention. Experienced dietitians will provide
individualized assessments, meal planning and education for patients that
are affected by various illnesses, including:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Food allergies
- General healthy meal planning
- Gestational diabetes
- Kidney disease
Building a diet that works to treat your condition can be difficult without
help. It is highly recommended you work with a nutritionist or dietitian
if you have been diagnosed with one of the conditions above.
The hospital cafeteria is managed by the Nutritional Services Department
and provides healthy meal choices to employees and visitors. The cafeteria
is located on the lower level of the hospital and is open to the public
every Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Maintaining the proper weight for your body type can be difficult. Both
over and under eating are common problems in the United States. Even people
who believe they are eating healthy can have trouble holding a proper
weight and balancing nutrition.
Our weight management program helps participants figure out what their
ultimate weight goals are and build a safe, healthy diet to achieve it.
By working with nutritional professionals, you can trust that your new
diet meets your nutritional needs.
