Loretto Hospital Pharmacy

Medication & Prescription Fulfillment for Patients

Whether you are an inpatient or outpatient, there is a good chance you will be prescribed medication during your treatment. The pharmacy department provides medication-related care for all patients admitted to the medical facility. Through this service, patients can receive prescriptions and have them filled in one convenient location.

Two pharmacists

The pharmacy staff follows healthcare quality requirements to ensure that medications are prepared and dispensed in a manner to safely, effectively and efficiently treat patients and achieve desired outcomes. Our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are licensed and certified in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

Pharmacist & Doctor Collaboration

More and more hospitals are adding on in-house pharmacies so that patients can receive better-coordinated care between a doctor and pharmacist. Oftentimes, retail pharmacists do not provide the drugs prescribed by a hospital doctor.

Hospital doctors can consult with the in-house pharmacist and discuss the patient’s conditions, the dosage they need, and their timetable for taking medication. Given that hospital patients need more intense and focused care than others, it has become impartible for doctors to have patients fill prescriptions at pharmacies they have no relationship with.
